DOGE ‘Audits’: A Mask for Corruption, Not Efficiency | by Tony Bradley | Less Than A Minute | Feb, 2025

The so-called “audits” conducted by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) are anything but.

The individuals unleashed on government agencies are not auditors — they lack the expertise, qualifications, and methodology required for real audits. At best, they’ve compiled a punch list of items that might warrant scrutiny, but auditing is a rigorous process requiring analysis, time, and, crucially, actual auditors.

While rooting out fraud and wasteful spending is a noble goal, DOGE’s approach is neither transparent nor lawful. Their actions violate multiple statutes, including the Impoundment Act of 1974, which prohibits the withholding of congressionally appropriated funds. Worse, their targets are conspicuously limited to agencies actively monitoring or investigating Elon Musk and his companies. This isn’t about efficiency — it’s brazen corruption disguised as reform.

Efficiency requires accountability, not executive fiat. By bypassing legal and procedural norms, DOGE undermines trust in government and sets a dangerous precedent. True reform demands integrity, not selective targeting to shield powerful interests.

Let’s call this what it is: a sham. Accountability starts with transparency, and DOGE’s actions fail that basic test.

The realistic wildlife fine art paintings and prints of Jacquie Vaux begin with a deep appreciation of wildlife and the environment. Jacquie Vaux grew up in the Pacific Northwest, soon developed an appreciation for nature by observing the native wildlife of the area. Encouraged by her grandmother, she began painting the creatures she loves and has continued for the past four decades. Now a resident of Ft. Collins, CO she is an avid hiker, but always carries her camera, and is ready to capture a nature or wildlife image, to use as a reference for her fine art paintings.
