Second-person horror game Out of Sight launches on May 22

Starbreeze today confirmed that Out of Sight, the upcoming horror puzzle title from The Gang, is officially launching on May 22 for PC and consoles. According to the publisher, the game itself launches on Steam, the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch. Alongside this launch, Flat2VR Studios is launching a VR version, Out of Sight VR, on Meta Quest and PSVR2 on the same day.

The studio describes Out of Sight as “[blending] first and second-person perspectives,” with the player directing Sophie, a young girl who is blind, through a haunted house by way of her teddy bear companion. When Sophie is not holding Teddy, the game shifts into second-person, whereas it’s closer to a classic first-person horror game when she is.

The game’s design team initially published a proof-of-concept for Out of Sight on itch.io in 2022, adding in the description that it was “created in six weeks by a team of 8 people from the FG21ST class at the Futuregames school in Stockholm.” The Gang is also behind popular Roblox title Strongman Simulator, and is now developing original IP.
