Role: SRE + DevOps Engineer – Edge Computing

Type: Full-time

Location: Remote (with flexibility for occasional on-site meetings)

We are looking for an exceptional Site Reliability Engineer who is passionate about building and maintaining reliable, high-performance systems that enable our cutting-edge Edge computing platform. As a Site Reliability Engineer at Wasmer, you will be responsible for ensuring that our systems run smoothly and have the capacity for future growth. This is a critical role that will have a direct impact on the success of our platform and the satisfaction of our customers.

Our team is passionate about creating powerful and reliable solutions that will transform the landscape of Edge computing. As we embark on our next groundbreaking offering in Edge computing, we are seeking a talented and experienced Site Reliability Engineer to join our team.

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure solutions for our Edge computing platform
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure efficient deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting of our applications and services
  • Develop and implement automation tools and processes to improve system reliability and performance
  • Develop and manage our metal-servers infrastructure
  • Establish and enforce best practices for infrastructure management, security, and disaster recovery
  • Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks and performance bottlenecks
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for the systems and processes under your responsibility
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to ensure 24/7 availability of our platform
  • 2+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, DevOps, or related roles
  • Experience with Linux server administration
  • Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Go, Java, or similar)
  • Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, etc.)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with Edge computing platforms and related technologies (Rust or Wasm)
  • Familiarity with Serverless architectures and Lambda functions
  • Knowledge of networking, security, and distributed systems concepts
  • Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools
  • Experience with Nix / NixOS

For our runtime our stack is based mainly on Rust, WebAssembly and LLVM. However, if you have experience with low-level systems languages (such as C, C++, Zig, …) you will fit on the role perfectly.
